Open Educational Resources at USG

Welcome to the guide for Open Educational Resources. OER are teaching materials that are free of cost and openly licensed so that they can be re-used and repurposed by others.

OER can be textbooks, full courses, videos, tests or any material used for a teaching and learning purpose. This guide provides resources and services to support using and creating OERs at USG.

Use the tabs above to navigate through the pages of this guide.

How the Library Can Help?

Librarians at the Priddy Library can work with you individually or in groups to:

  • Locate affordable and open educational resouces for your course
  • Evaluate OER
  • Adapt, Remix and Create OER that can be shared with a wider audience.
  • Assist with M.O.S.T. or other OER-related grant applications/projects

Email Eileen Harrington, Assistant Library Director at eharring@umd.edu to make an appointment for a consultation.
