Searching for a specific journal?

Click on the arrow next to "Select a Field (optional)" and choose SO Journal Title

Keyword and Phrase searches

Example: Keyword search for phonics instruction; searches for those two words anywhere

Example: Searching for phonics instruction as a phrase, where the two words must appear together in the order shown. Placing quotes around two or more words will retrieve those terms together, limiting results.

Subject searches

Click on the arrow next to "Select a Field (optional)" and choose SU Descriptors to search for assigned subject terms (will narrow search results)
Use the OR connector to include additional related terms (will broaden/increase search results)

Subject and Journal search

Limit Search Results

Some common and easy ways to limit your search results on the search screen:
  • To limit results to full-text only, click the Full Text box
  • To retrieve peer-reviewed articles from scholarly journals, click the Peer Reviewed box
  • To search for articles within certain years, enter desired years under Date Published
  • To search articles from a specific, enter the journal title under Journal Name
