Requesting books through InterLibrary Loan (ILL)

USMAI libraries may not have all the materials you need for your research paper. If you locate sources that are not available in the System Libraries, you may request them through interlibrary loan.

Look for the   button to send a direct request to ILL (ILLiad) from any database or Worldcat.

Login using your username & password. First-time users are required to register in the ILLaid system.

To use the ILL service you will need to use your 14 digit barcode and last name to access the InterLibrary Loan database (ILLiad).

It can take up to a week or longer to receive requested materials, so start your research early!

Book requests require you to indicate in the note field of the request form the location you prefer for the pickup of the book. The location may be the Priddy Library or your home iinstitution's library

When the item comes in, you will be notified by e-mail

Some items will be available electronically in your ILLiad account; others you will pick up at the Circulation desk

LOGIN to ILLiad to enter information for a request, to check the status of a request, or to request a renewal.

Library Links in Google Scholar

Before starting a search in Google Scholar, you can change the settings so that you will access articles to which your institution subscribes.

1. Once in Google Scholar, click on the menu icon in the top left-hand side of the screen. From the menu that appears, choose Settings.

2. On this page, click on Library Links in the menu on the left-hand side of the page.

3. Enter your university's complete name: University of Maryland, Baltimore County in the search box and do the search. Your school should appear in a list below the search box. Check that box and click save.

4. This will then take you back to the search page on Google Scholar. When you do a search, the FindIT button should appear next to articles to which you have access. You only need to set this up once, not every time you go int to Google Scholar.
